How Can Allergic Itching And Swelling On The Legs Be Treated?

I think my husband is having an allergic reaction to the Trazodone 50mg to help him sleep. He has a rash and terrible itching on his legs and they look swollen. What can I give him or how can I help him. He is 79 and possible dementia. YYYY@YYYY

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
By your history and description, possibility of allergic dermatitis is more likely.
Best treatment is mometasone (steroid) cream for local application, oral combination of montelukast (anti allergic) and levocetrizine or fexofenadine (antihistamine).
He will mostly improve with all these in 2-3 days.
If not improving then oral steroid is also required.
So consult dermatologist and discuss all these.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your husband. Thanks.
I find this answer helpful
