How Can Acid Reflux And Severe Bodyache Be Treated?

I have been on Prilosec for the past three years because of severe heartburn. Three years ago I went to the ER for chest pain thru to my back. I was all cleared and told I have acid reflux. I am now for the past month or so experience terrible body aches. I did some research and found that this is one of the side effects. What else can I take that won t cause the terrible aches.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

We have to rule out possibilities like perforation or ulcer. Better to consult a gastroenterologist and plan for an endoscopy to rule out perforation or ulcer. You can take additional drugs like sucralfate also.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
