How Can A Swollen Lymph Node In The Neck Be Treated?

Hello. I have been dealing with a swollen lymph node in my neck for the past 2 weeks. I did go to urgent care and was prescribed prednisone. They did rule out mono and strep. I was told it was as a virus. The swelling did go away some what. But it’s back full force again . Almost the size of a egg and in a lot of pain. Just wondering what else it may be?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Swollen lymph nodes indicate infection in the nearby area. Start a short course of antibiotics for five to seven days. Since it has lasted for a few weeks, get an ultrasound scan done.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
