Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Certain risk factors can increase the chances of having a stroke. Eating habits, physical activity, smoking and drinking are examples of lifestyle stroke risk factors. Smoking and consumption of alcohol should be strictly stopped. Consuming healthy foods and moderate physical activity should be encouraged. High blood pressure, atrial fibrillation, high cholesterol, diabetes and circulation problems are all medical risk factors for stroke and needs to be controlled by means of medications and proper follow-up. Kindly educate and counsel your husband regarding the importance of doing these things, which will help to prevent the disorder.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
