How Can A Spider Bite Infection On The Lower Leg Be Treated?

I was bitten by I think a spider, not sure. I have 2 bite marks, the skin is very red, swollen, and hot to the touch. It is on my left lower leg about 6inches by 4 or so across. My main problem I can not stay awake. Since the bite 2 days ago I just want to sleep. where the bit marks the skin has a black circles. I do have numbness in my legs due to being a diabetic. My leg does itch some but today it hurts too. I did go to my doctor and she gave me an antibiotic, doxycycline 100m\ yesterday but the redness is getting worse and I just want to sleep.

Hi Dear ,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of spider bite infection on the lower leg which is due to toxins released by spider sting leading to allergic reaction. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take proper course of antibiotics and Ibuprofen and cleaning with antiseptic solution. Do Not itch area. Apply cold compresses. Consult your allergy specialist for proper diagnosis . Your allergist may conduct skin tests, blood tests and skin-prick test and give you steroids injections.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
