How Can A Person Be Helped Who Is Having Very Little Working Condition Of Intestine And Not Able To Eat All Kinds Of Food?
My 19 yr old daughter was told by her DR after many tests that her small intestine is hardly working. It takes her body 7-8 hrs to start to digest. We are lost on what to do for her. She is vey depressed because shes always in pain and can t eat but only a few foods. How can I help her ?
Take a soft diet with regular intervals. Enzyme supplementation is useful.
Depending upon the condition, treatment may vary.
In case of pancreatitis avoid high protein containing food. In case it is irritable bowel syndrome take a FODMAP diet. In the case of Celiac sprue avoid gluten-containing food. In the case of liver or gallbladder problems avoid fatty foods.
So please consult your gastroenterologist he will examine the cause and treat her accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
