How Can A Painful Ganglion Cyst In The Knee Be Treated?

I have a ganglion cyst deep inside my knee and a lot of pain. I was sent to a ortho physio dr and he wasn t familiar with this , and wanted to give me an injection in my knee. I said no as he didn t act like he knew much about this- I didn t feel comfortable doing experimental things. Any advice? He is in with an ortho surgeon but he screens patients for him.

Hi,

Ganglion cyst needs to be excised by means of surgery. Since you are having pain, it could be infected. Hence you need to take a course of antibiotics and analgesic medication for it to get better and then plan for its removal. Kindly consult Orthopedics for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards
