Dear Sir, I totally understand your concerns about this hematoma. I saw the picture and the following points should be taken into consideration.
1- To treat this hematoma you should do the RICE protocol : a-rest, b-ice, apply ice c-compression of the skin at the area of hematoma d-Elevation of your leg
2- This hematoma is in fact big and thus i would prefer further evaluation of the trauma to rule out any fracture especially that you have pain on walking, which might be due to the hematoma, but a fracture is also in the differential and must be ruled out.
3- you have to monitor your toes and your leg color and your leg temperature. If you notice pale skin of your leg and foot, if you feel numbness in your toes, if you feel that your leg and foot are cold, if you feel pain on the passive movement of your toes, then this is an emergency and you must go to the Emergency department to rule out acute compartment syndrome.
