How Can A Missed Period Be Treated?

hi, im julie ann i m 23 and i am having trouble with my monthly period now, i m 7 days delayed. The last time that we had an intercourse with my boyfriend was on September 8 and then after 3 days my period came. Now, i supposed to have my period, i always have my period in exact date every month, do you think i would be pregnant?

Hi Ms. Ann,
Thanks for letting us know your health concern. I have gone through your query and would like to offer some suggestions. If you had a natural period after your last intercourse, you cannot be pregnant. The possible causes for the delay in this menstrual period are stress, sudden weight changes, infections, use of certain medications and cysts of the ovary. If you did not have any intercourse during this cycle, go for a sonogram of the pelvis to know the status of the pelvic organs and see a specialist. You may be advised hormones to induce the period.
