How Can A Medical Abortion S Completion Be Confirmed?

Hi, My last period was on August 21 2017. As i have one year old child, i have not prepared for next one very soon. So i took mifepristone on 28th September and presta kind on 29th September. But no bleeding occurs. After one week I checked urine test it shows positive. I consulted with doc and had mifepristone on 7th October and misoprostol through vaginally on 9th October. Again there is no sign of bleeding. I took ultrasound scan the next day. Report says there is no product at all. No sign of pregnancy. Then I got confused doc ask me to wait for one more week for getting periods. Still I don t get my periods. I do not know where the mistake happens. Is this tablet may cause any problem in future pregnancy. What I have to do now..

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I will suggest you to get blood beta HCG test done. Test reports below 5 indicate non pregnant status and above 25 indicate pregnancy status.

If you are having negative reports, do not worry, as USG report is also showing no pregnancy in the uterus. Please do not repeat abortion pills again.

If beta HCG test shows pregnancy status, then please repeat USG after 15 days. If there is growing pregnancy, then you can opt for surgical procedure or pills for abortion.

Repeating USG will also rule out or confirm ectopic pregnancy if in case beta HCG test is positive.

Taking abortion pills now will not have any disasterous effects on future pregnancy. The effects of the abortion pills last for not more than 3 to 5 days.
