I have a boil at the very top of my buttcrack, I have had similar boils around the front of my wast line before near my belt buckle. I usually pop them, this one is not vary easy to reach. I have had it for 2 days. about 1 inch left and right of my butcrack is tender and stiff. And it bothers me when I sit. Is it bad to pop boils?

"Hi!
Welcome to Healthcaremagic. com.

I have read your query in detail and do understand your concern.

Yes it is not a good practice to pop boils.

It could be due to bacterial infection of the hair follicles.

You can go for pus culture sensitivity if there is any pus discharge from the lesions as it will help in proper choice of antibiotics

You may consider getting your Fasting blood glucose levels tested if they occur repeatedly.
Topical and oral antibiotics will be required to get rid of these lesions. You can apply mupirocin 2% cream twice daily on these.

Oral antibiotics will depend on pus culture sensitivity report or the pattern of antibiotic usage and resistance in your area.

If they occur after waxing or from hair follicles, permanent hair removal may be helpful.
do not pick or rub the affected area.

Hope this helps!

Good luck!"
