How Can I Test For Irritable Bowel Syndrome?

Am having pain in navel area. come in waves. Lying down does not relieve. Spent one entire sleepless night with this recurring pain, usually ending with diarrea. Sometimes experiencing burbing. Very painful. leaving that area feeling warm and uncomfortable. Frequent trips to bathroom. Sometimes just in time. Doesn t really seem to matter what I eat, altho I try to eat fairly healthy food. I think I have IBS. How does one test for that?
