How Can ESR Be Normalized?

Hi,

This is for my wife, recently we checked up the ESR and she was having it at 23, while it showed the normal esr at below 20. My wife is 30 Yrs old and she was having breathing problems, head ache and dust allergy. Would like to know is this on a higher side, wht should we do to bring it to normal. Her mother had mutiple myloma and she passed away last yr. Kindly advise .

Thanks for writing to HCM

There are many possible causes of an elevated ESR. ESR is a non specific marker.
A specific cause cannot be determined based on ESR alone.Generally it is followed up with other tests to diagnose medical condition.
High ESR also indicates that she have some infection in the body.
ESR will come down with control of infection.
