How Can A Fractured And Dislocated Elbow Be Treated While Having A Previously Placed Metal Plate?

Hi, my mum who has parkinsons broke her left arm last year and they put in a metal plate to repair it, she fell lately and xray shows fracture and dislocated elbow, can the metal plate be affected by parkinsons or could you use a different material besides metal?
