Hi! I'm asking on behalf of a 34 year old male, my boyfriend. He has had a fever 4 nights and days ranging from 99 to 102 during the day and it spikes to 104 at night or after sleeping. Other symptoms are a dry cough whigh occasionally being able to produce yellowish flem. He's very achy. We have tried medicines with exptorants and suppressants as well as Tylenol and ibuprofin for fever. His cough has not been that productive despite this. His fevers only respond to excedrin. 2 weeks ago I was treated for bronchitis with the Zpack and cough medicine and cleared up right away. We went to a patient first and the doctor was very abrupt with us and disregarded his fevers and reluctantly prescribed an antibiotic. Tested for strep was negative. Please help with ideas to relieve his pain he doesn't normally respond to Tylenol and ibuprofin. How long is to long for these fevers?
