Hi, I am a 58 year old woman who is many, many years post-menopause. I am 5'3" and 192 lbs. I don't know my BMI. For a few months I have been experiencing almost daily heartburn, periods of nausea (no productive vomiting), abdominal discomfort (no sharp pain), heat intolerance (sweating when everyone else is cold), frequent, soft bowel movements with occasional diarrhea, and light-headedness. The abdominal discomfort does not migrate to my back. Testing of my thyroid has come back negative. I receive age-appropriate annual medical care with all recommended screenings and bloodwork. I have always had an elevated cholesterol level and began taking Atorvastatin approximately 9 months ago. I also take Lexapro and Effexor. The symptoms mentioned above are relatively new but the sweating had gone on for several years and occurs at inappropriate times, meaning that it is not a result of high temperatures or hot flashes (I haven't had them in years). I live in Michigan and can be perfectly comfortable wearing lighter clothing than most other people around me. Based on my age and weight, I do have a lot of aches and pains, etc., and my doctor is rather conservative so I sometimes feel a bit like a hypochondriac if I mention Every Thing to him. I don't know if these are just symptoms of aging and a relatively sedentary lifestyle or if there is a specific reason that can be treated/corrected. I have researched conditions related to the gall bladder and pancreas but I never have any sharp abdominal pain. Sometimes the GERD is very painful. I appreciate your assistance.
