Hi Dr. Rynne. My 12 Year Old Daughter Fell Hard

Hi Dr. Rynne. My 12 year old daughter fell hard at indoor soccer about 96 hours ago. There is little to no swelling or bruising and never has been. Since immediately after the injury until now, she absolutely cannot bear weight on the foot. ( I can get her to press the foot into a thick pillow only-it hurts A lot to do so) Plain radiographs about 24 hours after the injury did not show a fracture. They called it a sprain and sent us home encouraging her to try and use it over time. We are doing rice and she is using crutches, it is wrapped in ace bandage. Is it possible there is a small fracture that was missed? How long to I wait with no progression without returning for another look? She is a very active kid and has had quite a few injuries, I am leery about rushing back for more imaging if we just need to give it more time. AND I am thrown off by the lack of bruising swelling. Thanks so very much for your time
