Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I am 50 years old and have been diagnosed with Crohns Disease since I was 19. I had a surgery for a blockage in 2012 and have now been diagnosed with short bowel or short gut syndrome have been trying to find adequate medical care since then. I have severe pain which they have diagnosed as another stricture and severe adhesions but really have done nothing but pain meds which I have been on since 2012 and have asked my primary md to wean me off of them. I live in a rural area with a large shortage of doctors. I have been on a picc line because of malnutrition and everytime I go off the picc line the weight falls off. I follow directions of my primary md who is my primary care giver because I cant find a GI specialist that will treat me because they all say my case is to complicated any suggestions on diet, treatment and pain control? I have no life since this surgery in 2012 being hooked to an iv for 15 hours a day doesn't leave time for anything. My husband and I own our own business but the only time I am well enough to be there is when I am on the picc line getting nutrition but that is only a temporary solution for a permanent problem. Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated!
