Headache After Childbirth. MRI Shows Abnormal Veins In Head. Help

I am a grandmother trying to get info about what my granddaughter told me. She was having bad headaches after her son was born about 6 months ago. She had an MRI done and they saw some kind of abnormal veins in her head. She wasn't sure how they pronounced the word and told me something like cirrhosis veins. But, I cannot find anything of that nature. Maybe you can help me. Thanks, a very concerned grandmother.

Hi and thanks for the query,

I am afraid cirrhotic veins in the brain really does not exist in medical literature as of now. I would suggest a CT scan be done to help compound results of the CT scan. A clinical evaluation coupled to this by a neurologist could be very helpful in making an appropriate diagnosis. Headaches could either be primary (migraine, tension headaches or tension headaches) or secondary.

I strongly suggest you book an appointment with a neurologist for a complete clinical review. Thanks and kind regards.
