Have Stomach Pain, Cold Body Temperature And Diarrhea. No Medication Till Now. What To Do?

stomach ache, cold body temperature, and diarrhea. Age 83. Person has a habit of eating bad food which I think is the problem. Stomach ache has subsided. but she is very cold (circulation?) She has had previous problems when younger with diarrhea. She does not want to see a doctor just yet. I would like to know what I am dealing with and should look for.

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.
From the description you have given it appears that the patient is suffering from severe dehydration which has lead to cold extremities. I would suggest the following assuming that the frequency of loose motions has stopped.
1. Oral rehydration fluids at least in the range of 1 to 1.5 liters.
2. High carbohydrate liquid diet.
3. Improved oral hygiene.
4. Monitor adequacy of urine output and ensure that the moistness of the tongue is ensured.
I hope this answers your doubt.
regards
