Is Wrong Dosage Of Meftal-P Harmful?

Due to our baby s fever, Doctor had prescribed Meftal-P yesterday. She is 14 months old. Problem is we gave the medicine today twice even when she had no temperature. It was to be given only when body temperature is greater than 100F. Is it serious. What should we do.

Hi,

It is usually given to improve babies symptoms in case of fever etc however with adequate dose spacing and quantity it can be given at intervals before fever spikes have surged to avoid fever rise and if prescribed by your babies primary care physician can be given accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
