Have Rapid Heart Rate, Tiredness, Sleeplessness. Had Quadruple Bypass Surgery. Was On Vytorin. Should I Discontinue?
I was on Vytorin 10/40 mg for 6 years and I had received a phone call from my cardiologist office to discontinue and take 20 mg simuvastatin daily. I am a female 53 years old and weigh 97 pounds. I had quadruple bypass surgery 6 years ago and my checkups are good. I appear to be having some sort of reaction to this medicine, anxious, restlessness and a rapid heart rate. I have been up for 36 hours and I feel tired but not enough to sleep. Any suggestions
Dear friend ... Thanks for your query to Health Care Magic..
I read your concern and there is nothing to be worried about your present symptoms , It is more likely to be due to stress and anxitey about change of drug to newer one . There is nothing to be worried ... You can continue new drug unless it creates more symptomatic problems .. but it is usually rare ..
Consult your cardiologist if symptom persist more than two weeks. Hope this information is helpful. Regards Dr. J.Kingson John David.
