Have Problem With Sleeping. Have Hepatitis And Serious Liver Problem. What To Do?
Hi in a very stressful situation. My wife has terminal cancer and I have a serious liver problem cause by hepatitis and exacerbated by malaria and excessive drinking linked to the situation we are in. I have cut alcohol completely and had various meds adjusted (not on Atavan or its brethren. I have enormous difficulty sleeping. That nightcap seemed to be the key to my sleep. Any suggestions to find quality sleep.
There are multiple causes of insomnia in your case are: -Stress and anxiety -History of alcohol use -Systemic illness like hepatitis
In your case it is better not start any sleeping pills like ativan as it will lead to addiction considering history of alcohol addiction in your case.
Same time follow principles of sleep hygiene. You can also visit nearby psychiatrist for evaluation of stress and anxiety. There are several medicines which help in anxiety and sleep without risk of addiction on them like TCAs.
Wish you all the best.
