Have Light Bleeding, Painful For Extended Duration. Pregnant?

HI, I am normally regular with my period having a 30 day cycle. This month i went 10 days late then had very light bleeding for 48 hours (not like my normal period which usually lasts 5 days with the first and sometimes second day being very painful). All pregnancy tests are negative at home. Did i just have a strange 40 day cycle or could i still be pregnant despite the bleed and the negatives? Thank you

Hi,
With so many negative pregnancy tests the chances of pregnancy are almost nil. It is more likely that you are having one of those delayed periods that happen occasionally. Yet, to be confirmatory, you can get a serum beta-hCG measurement and a trans-vaginal sonogram and see your consultant for further care. Weight disturbances, stress and hormonal imbalances can lead to this scenario. Managing stress and weight can keep things in control. Take care.
