Have Joint Pain, Elevated ESR Level, Raised Uric Acid Level. On Paracetamol And Ibuprofen. What Can Help?
my daughter is 18 years old.she has stared akt4 from last month for abdominal kocks.she is complaining acute pain in joint for the last 3-4 days. i am giving paracetamol+ibrufen.her lft is normal.hb 8mg and esr 50.why pain? is it due to raised uric acid contents by pyrazinamide in akt4. or any other reasons what are? what should i do? Thanks
Pyrazinamide induced Hyperuricemia causes a small but significant incidence of attacks of acute gouty arthritis. Your daughter's acute pain in one joint may be attributed to Pyrazinamide usage.
Either Probenecid or Para amino salicylic acid were found to be of some help. Give some rest to the involved joint by not involving in any activities. Ice packing of the joint once in 2 hours may help alleviate the pain & inflammation.
I suggest you to consult an orthopedic surgeon to evaluate other causes and for further management.
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
