Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

Pyrazinamide induced Hyperuricemia causes a small but significant incidence of attacks of acute gouty arthritis. Your daughter's acute pain in one joint may be attributed to Pyrazinamide usage.

Either Probenecid or Para amino salicylic acid were found to be of some help. Give some rest to the involved joint by not involving in any activities. Ice packing of the joint once in 2 hours may help alleviate the pain & inflammation.

I suggest you to consult an orthopedic surgeon to evaluate other causes and for further management.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
