Have Growth On Vocal Cord, Coughing. History Of Smoking. Possible Thickening Of Swallowing Tube

hi im a 49yr old male ex smoker now for 3 years i have what may be a growth on my left vocal cord which prevents this from closing or working properly and have been like this for 20 weeks i amd coughing all the time, ive also been told i have possible thicking of the swallowing tube but has not been explained to me why as i am having a gasto examination comming up

     A growth needs biopsy / possibly excision biopsy – especially in a smoker. That is the only way to diagnose, for sure…
     Regurgitation / reflux (as rom achalasia, hiatus hernia) is a common cause of chronic cough / hence the need for Gastroenterological evaluation

The treating doctor may suggest them depending on need, based on his assessment of the situation.
