Have Eye Power LE -2.00 And RE -2.50. Do Not Like Spectacles. Laser Treatment?
Hello Doctor , I am 22 years old and I have eye problem. My eyepower is LE -2.00 and RE -2.50. approx.... What can I do about it? The eye power is very irritating i dont feel like wearing the specs,i wear it while am on PC or studying ....what exercise should i do , or what should i eat to reduce the number and is there any solution to get rid of this apart from lazer please help awaiting your reply
Thanks for your question. From your glasses prescription I can see that you are myopic (short-sighted) but -2.00 to -2.50 is not a very high degree myopia.
As you do not like to wear glasses there are a few other options available to you. In the first instance it may be worth trying contact lenses to see if these suit you.
Lasereye surgery (such as LASIK) is also an option but you need to make sure that your degree of myopia has stabilized before you can have this procedure. It is also fairly expensive and can cause secondary problems such as dry eyes. However, most patients have a positive result from this.
Unfortunately there is very little you can do yourself to improve your unaided vision as it is a consequence of the size of your eyes and their refractive power. Exercises and diet will be unlikely to influence this.
