Have Dark Brown Discharge A Week Before Period. Took Birth Control. Started Spotting. Is That Normal?

I started have dark brown discharge a week before my period. It lasted for about 4-5 days then my period started. I started a new pack and its supposed to stop my period and it didnt. I had my period for more than a week. I called my doctor and they sent me a new birth control. I started taking that Sunday and Tuesday morning i started a light bleeding or spotting. Is that normal? I was on birth control for about 4 months before i changed and never had problems with spotting and now i am with this one. Would there be something wrong besides just spotting?

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The changes in the bleeding pattern that you see is due to the hormonal changes ion the body due to starting on a new birth control. Please do not worry as this will subside in next few days.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
