I have dead skin, "calluses" on the top of my feet where the skin is usually not as thick as the highly keratinized areas. (bottom of feet and palms). The few Dermatologists that I have seen, want to say that it's just corns because of the location being over the joints in some cases, however the shapes are not just circular. On the little toes it has grown parallel along toe, perhaps because of the pumice stone rubbing treatment. When they get wet, they swell enormously and turn white. I have the same issues with my fingers and when I present that "finger" concern to Dermatologists, I get the answer that they have never seen that before (perhaps I need a Dermatologist that is associated with Academia - they may be involved in research, and see new/more issues). It's as if the Skin Cells are damaged and have been forcibly changed to mimic the soles of the feet and Palm of hands. (dead Skin growing like pockets, and can be peeled of without any pain unless you tear into new skin) I have used Salicylic Acid, Benzoyl Peroxide, Urea cream and various moisturizers to name a few, to no avail. I believe it may be a rare disorder, however I have not met a Dermatologist or Podiatrist that seems to know or care to research (I guess if it doesn't kill you then forget about it). Does any one here have any ideas. My feet and hands do sweat a lot, so these areas sometimes look white after I remove my socks or if my hands or feet get wet at times, then return to normal after they air out (dry). Also, regardless of using the Salicylic Acid and other ointments for the prescribed period (2 week or 3), nothing peels. It almost as if there is a "super human" bond of the dead skin.
Thanks in advance for any ideas
