Have Boil On Inside Of Upper Lip. Taking Cephalexin. Should I Keep Removing Pus?

I have a large furuncle boil on the inside of my upper lip. It is not quite the size of a golfball but a bit smaller (quite big indeed), and despite my warm compresses, it has not decreased in size. I believed it to be a pimple at first because of the small dot on the outside of my lip but I was so so wrong. This is the 2nd day I've had it and it has done nothing but grow since yesterday. I was prescribed and picked up a prescription this morning for Cephalexin and took 1 orally this morning and late afternoon. The small hole on the outer lip that i believed to be a pimple does ooze some puss when i hot compress but only if i squeeze it after, and i try as gently as possible but don't do this too much out of fear of bursting the infection inside my skin and making it much much worse. My questions are; 1. Should i keep trying to help this puss out being that it is right in the middle of my face or just hot compress and then leave it alone? 2. Being that I was prescribed this morning and am taking the medicine currently, I'm wondering, because the boil is so large should i be more interested in having it drained by a doctor or letting the antibiotics drain the remains back into my body? & 3. I'm going to visit my sister at her University on Friday of this week. Potentially, how fast do you think I could get rid of this & do you have any other tips that you think would serve me well? Thank you so much for this btw, it means alot

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, it is a boil, and it is full of pus. the pus is to be drained and antibiotic is to be used for complete cure. So i advise you to consult a surgeon for diagnosis and treatment.
If it is left like that you will have a big boil, and it may burst bit by bit and may not completely evacuated, and may recur after some time.
Thank you.
