Hard Lump Today Located In Lower Pelvic Area, Have IUD Inserted. Are They Connected ?

I discovered a hard lump today located in my lower pelvic area (about 1 inch lower from my hip bone and about 2 inches into my pubic area). It is under the skin with no visual injuries or abrasions and there is no pain associated if I push on the lump. I had an IUD inserted 2 1/2 years ago and I am concerned if this would be associated with the lump? Is it something I should wait out or something I should get looked at immediately.

Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM

It is unlikely that hard swelling under the skin is due to displaced IUD. Chances of displacement is more, soon after its insertion. It may be due to other reasons.
First you should go for ultrasound of abdomen, as it can detect the intrauterine location of IUD.Definitely, you need proper clinical examination.
so, you consult your surgeon
