Had Pilondial Cyst, Few Stitches Removed, Noticed Discharge, Blood That Area, Hole Seen. What To Do?
Two weeks and a half weeks ago I had surgery on a pilonidal cyst . I saw the doctor 4 days ago and she removed all but 4 stitches. Well today I noticed a little blood and the area was leaking some type of fluid. Well I had a friend look at it and there is now a hole. Is this ok until I see the dr again in 3 days? And what should I do to keep this from splitting more and is the leaking good or bad?

This seems like normal process of healung. Usually there is no even suturing in treatment of pylonidal sinus because it is the best to leave it heal secondary. It should be daily washed with clean water and dressed. This is the best way to keep it clean. There must be a hole because sinus was exscised.This is nothing abnormal. If you notice fever,redness and pain it can be sign of infalmmation but i think you can wait 3 more days to see doctor. Wish you good health.
