Had Intercourse. Missed Period, Have Cramps, Vaginal Burning, Spotting, Bad Odor. What Is The Reason?

Hi! Okay so I had intercourse on Friday and at that point I was already two days late for my period. It was the first time I had sex in 8 months so I definitely could not have been pregnant. We used a condom so we were protected. Now, my period still hasn't come and I am experiencing cramps, vaginal burning, some kind of odor that is not usually present, and a tiny tiny bit of spotting. The spotting is so lite that it is hardly worth mentioning even. My last period was kind of similar; very light and almost was just like I spotted for a few days.

Hi thanks for your question.
Your periods were over due by two days when you had protected sex, so no chance of pregnancy from this sexual act and delayed periods are also not due to pregnancy as you didn't had sex previous to that for 8 months. Cramps, burning and foul odor could be due to yeast infection of vagina .The second possibility could be cervicitis that is inflammation of cervix, as these symptoms are also associated with some amount of spotting. The most common reason for delayed periods other than pregnancy is anxiety that is tension. There is also a possibility that light spotting along with cramps could be due to your periods which may be light like your previous cycle as you yourself mentioned. Relax nothing to worry, if symptoms remained persistent for more than a week consultation with a physician is advisable.
Hope this answers your question.
