Had Gastric Bypass And Gall Bladder Removal. Suffer From Pain. When Can The G-tube Be Removed?

hi my name is Richard , my daught is going through a ruff time . she had a gastric bypass, then a few months later they took her gall bladder then she had what they thought was pancreidis but because the way the stomac is now they can not do a scope only through a g tube, he put it in and she was having a lot of pain. was going to take 4 weeks to heal. she had to quit work and go on disability, then she got infection in it,. more pain,. she had had it with the tube and doctors and councilers and phyciatrists. they sent her from that hospital to another to a gastroligist, it was so infected he said go home and come back in a week takeing antibiotic,. she went back he took old tube out and had to put a different tube in. then he tells her shes got to go back to first doc who done her bypass and he will incert a larger tube so gastroligist can get his scope in. they seem to think theres a problem with the stoma. but she will have to come back home and let heal another 4 weeks before test,. she has had it and it gets not only phyisicle but mentaly to,. i was wondering if we should just get rid of tube period or continue,. from another docs point of view. thanks , worried dad

Hi there ~

I understand your concerns for your daughter. It is not clear as to why in the first place your daughter had a gastric bypass. Nevertheless, it seems to me that she has been through a lot lately and to the point where she has had to go on disability. The whole process of seeing doctors and visiting with different physicians can be frustrating at the very least. I understand that you are considering getting rid of the tube. I wonder if this is an option that was given to you by the doctors. I also wonder what your daughter thinks about it. It might help to have an honest conversation regarding your daughter's condition with your daughter. I hope this helps to solve the problem.

Take care and have a lovely day!
