Had Fever, Light Redness Under Nose, Blisters, Painful.

I had a fever last Saturday 101.15 (battery died & haven t been able to take a temp since),with a light redness under my nose. The redness turned to little blisters..& now oozed and crusted and painful...it looks like impetigo to me. The daycare where my step grand daughter goes...confirmed that foot hand mouth was in the center. Also, my new husband is on an antibiotic for Staph, from a deep vein thrombosis wound turned ulcer. I am concerned about my health at 52. I have never had anything like this. Thank you.

I have gone through your query regarding fever and painful blister under nose. As you said there is redness under your nose. All these features are in favor of infection under nose.

I would like to tell you the above said area is in danger area of face, because venous drainage from here goes to cavernous sinus and than to neck and heart. Therefore any infection of this area may be dangerous to life.

To manage it you should-

1- Don't try to squeeze it as this may spread the infection.

2- Take antibiotic.

3- Analgesic and anti inflammatory.

4- Trypsin and chymotrypsin.

I hope this will help you , but if do not get relief than consultation with ENT doctor will become necessary.
