Fungus Formation On Shin, Used Betamethasone, Lamisil Also Soaked In Epsom Salts. Is There Any Cure?
Since last December I have had some kind of fungus on my left leg, shin area. I didn't get to a dermotologist to find out it was a fungus until May. It is worse. They gave me BETAMETHASONE DP AUG 0.05% CRM, which was perfect and when it almost gone, they wouldn't give it to me so it came back much worse. I tried Lamisil for one month. To no avail. Right now, it is so much bigger, my leg has swollen and now it is warm around that area. I have an appt next Thursday but not sure what to do anymore. It is with a different derm doc. I bought on line and have been using terrasil for the past 2 full days. I even soaked tonight in epsom salts. I can't take much more of this. I hate wearing pants. Missed a whole summer. It is hideous. Can you help or direct me? Am I going to lose my leg over a fungus?

Hi fungal infection on the shin is called tinea corporis.it is caused by superficial fungi.betamethasona can cure it but it recurs with more vengenence.hence steriod should not be used .the best treatment is atarax 25 mg at night.terbinafine 250 mg once daily and application of terbinafine ointment twice daily.
