For How Long Is Orofer Tablets Advisable After Child Birth?

Thank u for the response. My wife got cesarean delivery male baby. In pregnancy time she taken orfer tablet for her hb level decreased status. Now its around 3months over. Doctor suggests orfer tablet is good so continue only. But how long we will take. Please reply.

Hi.

I can understand your concern. Should be taken for another 6-12 weeks after delivery. The major causes of postpartum anemia are prepartum anemia combined with blood losses at delivery. So she should take Orofer tablets either alone or in combination with folic acid for 6–12 weeks following delivery for reducing the risk of anemia.
