Fever. Advised Cefixime. Fever Not Subsiding After Taking 3 Tablets. How Long Will It Take To Respond?
My Widal test (slide method) shows
Sal. Typhi "O" : Positive 1 in 80 dilution
Sal. Typhi "H" : Negative 1 in 20 dilution
Sal. Typhi PARA A(H) & B(H) : Negative 1 in 20 dilution
Consulted doctor yesterday with the above report. He advised to take cefixime (200 mg) twice a day.
But still after consuming 3 tablets the fever is not subsiding. Will it take this long to respond?

Hello,
Cefixime will take 2-3 days to respond. Its better go for the Blood culture for Salmonella and Non Salmonella. can you mention your age and weight.
