When I get to the ER, i had the worst headeache ever. I don't normally get headaches. My vital and EKG were fine. All the doctor said was that i had a UTI. Hello and welcome to HCM.

Thank you for your query.

The symptoms mentioned by you cannot directly be attributed to a UTI, but they could be related to dehydration which is caused by the UTI. Symptoms of a UTI include the following:
-Burning sensation while urinating
-Frequent urination
-Increased urge to urinate, but less amount of urine passed
-Chills
-Fever
-Lower abdominal and/or flank region pain
-Itching around the genitals
-Blood in urine or immediately after (not always seen)

If you have been experiencing any of these symptoms, and have been losing a lot of fluids in the form of urine, and not replacing the same, then the above mentioned presentation could be simply due to dehydration.

But, if you have not had any of these symptoms, and do not have a positive urine report, then this cannot be attributed to the UTI. I would advise further investigation of parameters like blood pressure monitoring (using a holter's device), glycaemic profile, MRI, etc.

Although these symptoms, if related to dehydration are simple, if not, they can be a sign of some serious underlying condition, so please do not rest till you are ensured about the cause by your doctors.

I hope I have succeeded in providing the information you were looking for. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications at: http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-shoaib-khan/64581 . I would gladly help you.

Best wishes.
