Feeling Tired, Ankles Swollen, Back Pain. Concerned About Blood Circulation. Any Problem In Heart?
my husband is 55 years old and is not a smoker or drug user. his ankles are swollen and it looks like he has been complaining of his back hurting. he claims he is real tired. im concerned about his circulation and if there can be a problem with his heart . he has always been very active and now he complains that he is very tired. what could this be. he is 6 tall and weighs 230 lbs. he is grouchy and somewhat tired at times.
hi welcome to HCM -i had gone through your query and understand your concerns.. i would come up with two possibilities of your husband,
1.Painless swelling of the feet and ankles is a common problem, especially among older people. swelling of the ankle is the cause in cases of - Being overweight, - Blood clot in the leg -Increased age causes venous incompetence-Veins in the legs that cannot properly pump blood back to the heart.
avoid long standing positions, constant sitting positions are advisable
2.the another possibility for back pain may be LUMBAR SPONDYLOSIS; is due degenerative changes in the lumbar spine
-x-ray for lumbar spine may confirm the diagnosis
