Fear Of Recurrence Of Polio Disease. Child Given Polio Vaccine Earlier. Need To Give Vaccine Again?

My son is 4years old and he has received the Polio vaccine earlier. We are living in the Middle East and there is a fear now from the appearance of this disease again in here, so the Ministry of Health is insisting to give this vaccine to all children from 0 to 5 years old. My concern is do I have to give this vaccine again to my son or not??

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi Dear
Welcome to the HCM,
Yes it can be taken.
Preferably go for the IPV (Injectible). This IPV gives quite robust immunity and there are less chances of developing wild polio .
Hope the query is answered.
Thanks
