I seriousluy doubt that it is your heart that is hurting. It is more likely muscular pain in the chest or a pain between the cartilage and the breastbone that is common in young people. If you continue to have pain, consult your doctor.

Okay so I m a 15 year old girl and active with running( when it s cross country season but I m off right now) and on the skinny side weighing 95 pounds being 5 2 . I get these occasional (has happened about 8 or 9 times) heart discomfort so that when I breathe out kind of deeply there s a sharp pain near the bottom of my left lung near my heart. I think it has happened once or twice when I ate too much greasy food, when I laugh way too much, when I get over excited like when I played tennis the other day it occurred, and has randomly happened when I haven t done anything. These attacks last around 30mins to about a couple of hours. The worst case was when I still had it and went to bed and couldn t sleep on my left side because every time my heart beat there was once again a sharp pain but it was gone in the morning. I m just wondering if this could turn out to be a serious problem or just random chest pains that young people get. Please don t answer if u have no clue b/c it s a waste.

yes, i ve been having trouble with my heart since i was in high school, im a junior in college right now. My heart starts beating so fast and jumping so crazy and then my chest hurts like no other. with the movement on my chest, i cant get enough air and its so hard for me to breathe... I ve passed out because of it... I ve had to go to the hospital quite a few times and the doctors have done tests but they cant find anything wrong

I was doing some sprints and my heart started to heart. I think its my heart because when it would beat it would hurt so I got scared and stopped sprinting. I was tired but not completely exhausted. I have been doing some pretty intense running these last two weeks and since then my heart has been hurting throught the day just not a lot. The pain increases as I run harder but it was just annoying more than painful. Today I was doing some sprints and stopped because for the first time it was painful. I wanted to know why it might be hurting? because I have worked out like this before just without the many sprints that I have been doing these past two weeks.

I am a 23 year old female. I have a hard/ boney bump on the upper left side of my chest . It doesn t hurt it just feels irritated sometimes. I had a ultrasound and chest wall X-ray and nothing showed up. My doctor thinks it may just be a pulled muscle from working out, but it s been about two months and it hasn t gone away... I haven t been totally not using my chest muscle but I haven t really been working out because of it either. Is this just a pulled muscle? Or could it be something else?

My husband just received the results of a CT scan post concurrent chemo & proton beam radiation course (7 weeks) for lung cancer . Results indicate Thoracic Aorta: Stable ecstasia of the ascending aorta. Cardiac: Severe coronary artery calcification . Chest Wall: Low CT density mass 7x3x5cm in L lateral chest wall of uncertain significance. May represent postsurgical change/hematoma/seroma. Bones: Rib fracture/destructive lesion involving L 5th rib w/some increased bone destruction in the interval. New sclerotic 8th L rib lesion. CAN YOU TRANSLATE? I have other questions about the results of the scan specifically in his lungs.

Hi Dr. Grief, I am a 41 yr old male and had CABG x 3 nearly 4 years ago. I recently went off oxy and my sternal and chest wall pain is back. I hated being on those narco s but I m finding out fast that they did control the pain. I m heart healthy (never suffered a heart attack ) and have had caths that show blood flow is great. What are my options to help relieve my chest wall/sternum pain? Thanks for your help, Don in Tucson, AZ

Hi, I had bilateral spontaneous pneumathorax on 25 MAY this year. I had pig tail chest tubes inserted in the ER and 2 days later an operation to re-inflate my right lung (which was completely collapsed) and with the use of sterile talc powder it was stuck to my chest wall. three days later my left lung had re-inflated itself so no opertation was needed on that lung. However over the next week I had many fluid pockets around my lung which were not able to be drained through two more pig tail drains which were inserted above and below my right shoulder blade. So a 2nd operation was needed to clear the fluid. After 15 days in hospital I was discharged. So after all that information, my question is regarding an upcoming vacation. I know I am able to fly, but what I really want to know is if I can ride roller coasters? I will be in the states in November and need to know if 5-6 months post-op if I am going to be able to participait or sit on the side lines... Oh, im a 28 yr old female, very light drinker, 150lbs, 5 7 Cheers xoxo
