Question: What could be the possible cause of severe upper right back pain, even when sleeping and resting, also have loss of bowel function as well from a cut artery and blood transfusion two months ago

I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

I do not think lung cancer should be a concern to you. It doesn't commonly manifest with pain, in itself lung cancer doesn't cause pain unless it infiltrates the pleura and thoracic wall, so in advanced stages.

It is much more probable for the pain to be caused by a more benign issue such as spinal issues such as arthritis or herniated disc, strained muscle or at times infections such as herpes zoster (but in this case should be followed with skin rash in a few days from onset of pain).

So for the moment would manage with over the counter painkillers such as Ibuprofen, if pain persist should check with primary physician for other possible signs and some imaging test if deemed necessary.
