Drank Alcohol, Vomited, Very Cold, Given Water. Can Add Salt To Water For Electrolyte?

Hi Doctor,

My friend drank some alcohol tonight (a decent amount, but not a huge amount; but she drank it quickly). She has since vomited three times. She is still a bit dizzy, but more alarmingly, she is very cold and has very intense chills. I am giving her water to drink slowly. Should I add some salt to the water to help with electrolyte replacement? does she need to see a doctor? please advise

Hello,
I have gone through your query and understood your concerns. In my opinion your friend may be suffering from dehydration due to vomitings so I advice to add salt and its always better to give electral powder instead of adding salt to correct electrolyte imbalance.Give tab.avil and tab.ondem and observe for chage if the symptoms persists you must take her to er. Take care....
