Does Vaginal Bleeding With Abdominal Cramps During 5th Week Of Pregnancy Indicate Miscarriage?

Hi.last week i took an ultrasound and was told that i am 5 weeks 6 days pregnant but no yolk sac seen and hcg level dropped from 18000 to 16000 in 2 days and then to 14000 in the next 2days. I experienced light spotting till last week but since last 2 days it has become heavier.yesterday quantity of bleeding increased and today early morning i had severe cramping and heavy bleeding.am i miscarrying? my next ultrasound is after 3days. I am very worried. Please help.

Hi, I think you should consult your doctor immediately as you may be miscarrying. Hcg levels will not tell much at this week of pregnancy. After hcg level reaches a cut off of 6000, it is not advisable to follow the pregnancy by hcg value. Only ultrasound can tell you the exact status. Hope I have answered your question.
