Does Taking Glycomet SR During Pregnancy Affect The Fetus?

My wife is 9 month preganant now. After sugar checkup doctor noticed that she is havng sugar in blood (fasting 105). So doctor advised to take tab glycomet sr 500 mg at once in day. I have doubt that if i take tab by orally is it safe?. While taking this tab, is my baby having any problem? Is glycomet sr500 safe in pregancy period. she is doing regular excercise and diet controll. Pls help me out with this tab?

that is safe and does not lead to any harm.but before start the tablet plz do hba1c test.because that fasting level is normal and doesn't required any rx.so plz do hba1c then if it shows higher then tablet can start.
