Does Taking Amoxicillin Cause Abdominal Pain?

Hi. I have been feeling unwell since last Thursday. Severe headache, chest pain, painful cough, lack of apetite and feeling cold at times. I have been to the GP and they have prescribed me with amoxicilin as they said I have a chest infection. I have started taking amoxicillin 3 days ago and since since I have started taking them I started to develop a shart grinding pain in my belly. Can you please tell me what can I do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dear Patient,

yes this can be a sideeffect of amoxicillin. You should consult your md again immediately and he should switch the antibiotic to some other substance that you take in better. Possible alternatives can be Azithromycin or Moxifloxacin. Hope this is helping you , if you have any clarificatons you can get back to me, if this was helpful please kindly rate my answer. Best regards
