Does Sperms Spilled Out During Intercourse Cause Problem In Conceiving?
Pls doc, I ve being married for about 5months Now and each time me and my husband have sex almost all the sperm return back outside. Am getting worried and I think maybe something is actually wrong with me. Pls can you help me out cos I really want to be pregnant.
Hi, Welcome to HCM. It is called as 'Flow Seminis'. It is a quite normal phenomena. It is common for every women. Human cervical Os would be opened only during child birth and abortion. Rest of the time it will be closed. Only drops can enter or dribble out through the closed os. Unlike mouth uterus can not consume all that enters into it. Only one fifth or one forth of the ejaculate can gain entry through capillary action during contraction of uterus or by the swim up of sperms. So nothing to worry about Flow Seminis. If you have not conceived after 6 months of consistent sex relationship, then you and your husband have to be examined and investigate for infertility and to be treated accordingly. Wish you a speedy and happy family way ahead. Dr S.Murugan
