Does Soreness Of The Stomach Along With Burning Indicate Ulcer?

Hi, my stomac is feeling very sore and is burning a lot too, I feel very nausea, this is been going on for 2 days, can you tell how I know for sure if I have an ulcer? the doc. they did a blood test and xray she said the amylase was 125 she wants to do a sonygram of my gallbladder I really think its just an ulcer, what do you think?

Hello and thank you for your question.
There is no way to diagnose and ulcer for sure without looking into your stomach with an endoscope (tube with light and camera on it). Your symptoms sound like an ulcer, but ulcers do not cause an elevated amylase so I think she is correct to want to look at your gallbladder with an ultrasound. Proton pump inhibitors like omeprazole are the medications used to heal ulcers so make sure you are taking one of those.
