Does Smoking Increase The Chance Of Valley Fever?

HI, I am wondering if I can get some information online about smoking and Valley Fever. My husband has been recently diagnosed with Valley Fever and he is a smoker, what are risks, does smoking activate the fungus and should he stop? Please send me any information you can. Thank you

hello, thanks for ur query, as valley fever mainly acts on lungs , he should quit smoking. seen mainly in immunocompromised, occurs from air born transmission, attacks lungs and skin, anti fungal treatment works nicely.all d best. take care.
